President's Message
15th August, 1872 heralds a significant landmark in the history of mankind, a new light has dawned upon the earth, a new consciousness was born. A fresh chapter in the story of man has begun a chapter full of bright hopes and dreams for mankind. It is the epoch-making day of the birth of Sri Aurobindo, who revolutionized the concept of life, religion and God and ascribed a new spiritual meaning to them. His concept of life does not involve an escape from life, but an affirmation of life; it emphasizes the blossoming of life to perfection here and now, not hereafter. He has worked for ushering in of a new era of Truth, Beauty and Perfection by the spiritualization and transformation of man’s consciousness.
“Sri Aurobindo’s Rourkela School (SARS) strives hard to implement the above lofty ideals of Sri Aurobindo by pursuing a system of Integral Education which ensures the inner growth of the students”. The aim of education is not to gather information, but to grow the powers of the mind and the spirit” writes Sri Aurobindo. This Integral system of education enunciated by the Mother and Sri Aurobindo postulates five secondary aims of education, physical, mental, moral, psychic and spiritual which turns the children into whole human beings perfect in character, knowledge and values.
I congratulate wholeheartedly Principal, the teachers and all those who are involved with profound dedication in this arduous task of shaping our young minds into a new spiritualized race governed by Truth, Beauty and Harmony.
